The late Shri Sewa Ram Bagga, born in 1937 in Ludhiana, British India, settled in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh after the 1947 partition. A passionate theatre enthusiast, he earned accolades for his acting and directing. During his tenure with the Indian railways, he led their theatre team and was recognized by the Indian government for his pivotal role in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. He led the Railway Workers’ Union, orchestrating the world’s largest railway strike in 1974, and was later arrested during the 1975 emergency. In 1969, he founded Leelawati Public School, expanding it to four CBSE branches. An advocate for education and social activism, he aspired to create an inclusive art and music academy. Born on August 5, 1937, he passed away on June 12, 2018, honored with a state funeral.
